From the pre-game hype to the post-game interviews, not to mention all the action in between, there’s nothing like an NBA outing to get you pumped. There’s just one problem: the costs can be prohibitive, especially if you’re on a budget.

To be sure, tickets can be pricey, and concessions will surely put a damper on your disposable income, but with a competition to become Pickswise’s Official NBA Food Tester, the betting site is looking to make one fan’s season dreams come true. To win $500, tickets to three to five games, and a stipend to eat a signature dish at each stadium you visit, simply follow @Pickswise on Twitter and reply to the account’s pinned tweet with a photo of yourself at a game or eating your favorite game-day food, using the hashtag #NBAFoodTester. (Two caveats: you’ll have to provide your own transportation to and from the games, and – noted with apologies to the league’s global fanbase – the contest is only open to residents of the US or Canada, ages 21 and older.)

Submit your entry by October 14 at 5pm EST, then sit back and keep an eye on your inbox: the winner will be selected at random by Pickswise employees and notified on the 15th. From there, you can start coming up with a plan of attack. Will you catch a game in Atlanta, where vendors include some of the city’s most popular pizza, Southern, soul-food joints, in one of the cleanest venues in the country? Or perhaps the barbecue nachos at FedExForum – home of the Memphis Grizzlies – would be more your speed. You might even run into your counterpart, Pickswise's NFL food tester, while you're out on the town.

“Sports and food go hand in hand,” company spokesperson Jake Apperley said in a statement, “and here at Pickswise, we want to hire someone to finally help settle all of the debate and lock down the best food in the NBA.”
