A very special and unique cafe is about to open in the West Hollywood hills of Los Angeles, serving fresh food, coffee, juices and cannabis.

The Lowell Cafe will be the very first organic cannabis cafe in the United States, opening on 1 October. Its aim is to create a “true farm-to-table experience,” and make the experience of cannabis open and accessible to everyone by creating a middle ground between a cafe and a dispensary - and, of course, completely legally, since the cafe will operate with the first cannabis consumption licence issued in West Hollywood.

“We created the cafe because we believe there needs to be a destination for everyone to enjoy the consumption of cannabis in our community,” it reads on Lowell Cafe’s website. So whether you’re already an expert or don’t have the slightest idea of what cannabis is, the cafe will definitely be a place for you. In fact, it’ll have a dedicated service of Flower Hosts - think of them as cannabis sommeliers - who will guide you through the best strains, flavours and their effects and make sure your experience is the best it can be.

Lowell Cafe’s menu was designed by head chef Andrea Drummer, who’s always worked in “innovating edible cuisine to access the full properties of the cannabis plant” - it includes dishes like grilled peaches with burrata and fried chicken sandwiches, as well as cocktails like a lychee spritz and a rosewater elixir.

If you’d like to visit Lowell Cafe when it opens, it’d be best to make a reservation - and remember to bring ID, since no one under 21 is allowed in. You can find all the information on the cafe’s official website here.
