There’s still time for you to join this year’s Fjällräven Polar adventure, a unique trip with sled dogs deep into the Scandinavian Arctic.
Fjällräven Polar was born out of an idea by Fjällräven’s founder Åke Nordin, who wanted to recreate something similar to the Iditarod trail running from Anchorage to Nome in Alaska but in his native Sweden and aimed at amateurs instead of professionals. The trip runs for 300km into the Scandinavian Arctic, with more than a hundred sled dogs, and it’s a chance to truly test one’s spirit – anything can happen on the route, from blizzards and freezing temperatures to breathtaking snowy landscapes.

The Fjällräven Polar trip starts from Signaldalen in Norway and then moves into Sweden, passing by Pältsa (one of Europe’s largest areas of permafrost) and then by Lake Råstojaure at the border between Sweden and Norway. From there the route crosses the Kiruna municipality passing by Kattuvuoma, Sevujärvi and Väkkäräjärvi, for a journey deep into the heart of Lapland. The trip will start on 30 March 2020 and finish on 5 April.
Participation on the trip is by voting, so what you have to do is upload a video of yourself in which you showcase why you’re the perfect person to go on this trip - aspiring adventurers are divided into geographical regions and only two people per region get to go. One participant will be voted by other users, while the other will be selected by the Fjällräven Polar. Entries are accepted until 12 December, so there’s still time to join.
