The band of Eurovision’s own “Epic Sax Guy” is the latest in a long line of celebrities doing their best to remind people to stay at home during the current COVID-19 outbreak.
Sunstroke Project is a Moldovan band that represented their country at the Eurovision Song Contest twice, once in 2010 in Oslo and again in 2017 in Kyiv. Their performances have created one of the Eurovision’s longest-standing and most-beloved memes in the form of one of the three members of the group, Sergey Stepanov, also known as Epic Sax Guy.

The band released a parody of their 2017 Eurovision song Hey, Mamma! on their Youtube channel. The song, performed in Russian, features lyrics that remind the Mamma of the title to “please stay at home, we will bring the food to your door” and other good practices to help stop the spread of the coronavirus. And that’s exactly the aim of Sunstroke Project, who said that they had made the video in order to“ avoid more casualties in the fight with COVID-19!”
Not only does the video carry a useful message but it's also a treat for fans of the Eurovision Song Contest, the 65th edition of which has recently been cancelled because of the outbreak. The 2020 Eurovision Song Contest was supposed to take place mid-May in Rotterdam, in The Netherlands but the organisers are now discussing how to make up for the skipped year (the first-ever in the history of this music competition) in the 2021 edition.
