Build your own beautiful and sleek flat-pack cabin with this company
We’ve all fantasised about getting away from it all and escaping to our own cabin in the woods, and now, one company is making it easier than ever to make that dream a reality. Everywhere, Inc, a US-based enterprise has unveiled stylish and modern flat-pack A-frame cabins that you can build yourself.
Customers first purchase a set of plans from the company, and a box arrives at their door. From there, they can choose from three options; option one, for the company to manage the build from start to finish (this is the most expensive but fastest option available to those in North America), two, for you to give the plans to a contractor of your choosing, and finally, if you are shorter on money but richer in time and know-how, you can do choose to do the entire build yourself.
The cabins start at $252,00 and 1574 sq ft and can include three bedrooms, two bathrooms, 41 windows, three large wooden decks and a vaulted kitchen and living area. The first floor has nine-foot ceilings, and the houses boast concrete countertops, showers and sinks and large storage areas. The company even includes an “Airbnb-ready” listing system for short term rental of the cabins after they are built.
Company founder Brand Winnie was inspired to start the company by his grandfather. “Growing up, I would always travel to the cabin that my Grandpa Fred built in the 1970s. It’s up near the Tetons on the border of Idaho and Wyoming and it's one of my favourite places on Earth. I grew up fly fishing the nearby mountain streams and rivers and taking day trips to Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks. The cabin was the base camp for all things adventure in the region and created some of my best memories. AYFRAYM was directly inspired by Fred and created for the purpose of building the ultimate cabin that you could live in if you needed to,” company founder Brand Winnie told Lonely Planet Travel News.
Everywhere, Inc also builds tiny homes on wheels that are available in three models ranging from 38ft long to 26ft long, in a variety of styles and finishes. According to Brand, small houses will be a growing trend across America as more states embrace it. “The future is bright for tiny homes. Washington State is looking at passing a new state-wide ordinance that will allow you to live out of one as your full-time residence starting in December, so that's really going to be a game changer and we want to be ready for it!” Brand said.
