New 3D imaging has revealed that the Terracotta Warrior Army in Xi’an was likely based on real soldiers. Scans were taken of the statues’ ears, which are said to be as unique as human fingerprints, revealing that each statue is entirely individual and likely was modelled after a different soldier.
