Begun in 1756, this Georgian mansion was built in several stages and completed in the 1770s. It houses a fine collection of colonial furniture and decorative art.
The house was originally commissioned by William Coleman, a Philadelphia merchant and close friend of Benjamin Franklin. It and its estate was sold in 1868 to become part of Fairmount Park.
