One of the oldest private restaurants in Havana (since 1994) and one that seems to have survived all the aches and pains of Cuba’s economic roller coaster, entertaining illustrious guests along the way (Jimmy Carter came here in 2002).
The setting is a secluded villa and garden in residential Playa, and the food is a mélange of Cuban staples mixed with culinary rarities that range from salmon soufflé to stewed lamb. Though the private restaurant sector has exploded since 2011, Lilliam has maintained its prominence with classy service, creative food and a romantic setting amid trickling fountains and tropical ferns.
