Patty's Bistro

Northern Belize

This Corozal favorite retains its friendliness and commitment to good local food. The yellow walls are hung with hokey beach art, and the tables are covered in plastic tablecloths, but the atmosphere is so welcoming that the informal interior only adds to the charm.

The place is best known for its conch soup (BZ$16), a thick potato-based chowder with vegetables, rice and chunks of conch meat, but more adventurous diners may want to go for the cow-foot soup (BZ$10). You'll find more Mexican and Belizean fare on the menu, not to mention burgers, sandwiches and other standards.
