Welcome to Southern Palawan
As central and northern Palawan become more inundated, adventurous travellers are starting to look toward southern Palawan to stay ahead of the pack. The main towns of Narra, Quezon and Brooke's Point are easily accessible via sealed roads and offer jungle- and marine-based diversions: rare birds, ancient-man caves, waterfalls and beautiful islands. The going gets rougher as you travel further south, which is populated by indigenous tribal groups and Muslim communities. Few people make it down to the Balabac islands off Palawan's far southern tip; those that do are rewarded with a Maldives–like paradise, minus the five-star resorts (or any resorts, for that matter).
