Inca Trail - Ecuador

Day 1.- Baños- Riobamba-AchupallasWe depart from Baños at 5:00 am and drive to Achupallas (3400 m). We will get there at 10:00 am and start our 5 hour hike to Cuchi Corral. Later we will have dinner and enjoy the night under the start at our campsite.Day 2 - Laguna Tres Cruces-Paredones ruinsWe will  hike 5 hours to Paredones ruins, where we will explore the ancient site. Then we will relax and have dinner, while camp is pitched.Day 3- Paredones -Tambo Cajon-IngapircaToday we will hike to Ingapirca! We will stop for lunch at the small village of Tambo Cajón. From there, we will be able to see the distant Inca Walls. At 4.00 pm we will arrive there. We will enjoy a guided tour of the site and explore the cultural museum. Then we will drive back to Cuenca or Riobamba.

Day 1: Cuenca, Ingapirca and Davil's Nose Train Our tour guide will pick you up at your hotel or meeting place at 8:00am. After a one and a half hour drive we will arrive at Ingapirca. You will have enough time for exploring, so you can admire and learn about the Inca ruins.Later we'll drive through the Ecuadorian highlands with their beautiful views to arrive in Alausi. This charming town is known for the "Devil's Nose Train" which is one of the most challenging railways in the world. After lunch you will board this famous train for an exciting ride that will take about 2 ½ hours. Upon your arrival at the train station in Sibambe be ready to enjoy the rich cultural, folklore and handicrafts made and performed by local people. Upon your arrival back in Alausi your guide will take you to the Hotel. Day 2: Alausi - Riobamba - Baños Drive from Alausi through the Avenue of the Volcanoes. Our first stop will be Colta, a little town where the Spanish founded the first city in Ecuador. Here you will also find the first catholic church built in the country.Later, depending on the weather, you will be able to take pictures of snow-capped mountains, including Tungurugua and Chimborazo, the highest peak in Ecuador. Upon arrival in Baños, check in at your hotel and enjoy a free afternoon to relax at the hot springs, in your hotel, or take a walk to explore the city and surroundings on your own. Day 3: Waterfalls route & Amazon rainforest After a half an hour drive we will take a short hike to visit the "Treehouse" where the National Geographic photo contest winner was taken.Later we will drive for about an hour, making several stops along the waterfalls route, before reaching “Pailon del Diablo” waterfall. After a two kilometer hike we will reach this magical place, one of the ten largest waterfalls found around here.After lunch we will drive to Puyo and the Amazon Rainforest. Full-day Ingapirca, Gualaceo & Chordeleg from Cuenca

This is the perfect option for people with limited time, combining two tours into one: Ingapirca and the artisan villages of Gualaceo and Chordeleg.  We start our tour with a ride through the enchanting highlands, enjoying amazing views along the way.  We arrive at Ingapirca which is Ecuador’s major Inca archaeological site.  Sun worshippers built this fortress-temple in Cañar valley.  It is located approximately 60 miles northeast of Cuenca at 10,500 feet above sea level. We continue our tour to Gualaceo and Chordeleg, two charming villages famous for handicrafts. We will visit a workshop where artisans produce the finest silver filigree in Ecuador. There will be time for shopping or simply admiring the interesting atmosphere of the town. Our final stop will be at a local family’s workshop where we’ll see the process of weaving shawls and ponchos on antique looms, using dyes extracted from plants.  At the end of this full-day tour, you will be returned to your hotel.

Inca Trail Culebrillas to Ingapirca 1-Day

In just 6 miles (10km) Our tour takes you through the pristine Ecuadorian paramo hiking a portion of Ecuador’s best preserved Inca Trail. Made up of a 7 meter wide stone road that follows the high mountain ridges of the Andes, in the ancient times this trail conected Quito to Cusco.  Along the route  we will pass by a beautiful lagoon called Culebrillas, ranches and Incan Tampus (stone buildings constructed by the Incas, where Chasquis or Incan messengers took refuge hundreds of years ago) reaching a maximum elevation of 4,100 m (13,276 ft.) above sea level, making it one of the highest points of the Royal Road in the entire Incan Empire. We finish our hike at San José village where hikers often reicive a warm welcome by local children. Afterwards, we will visit Ingapirca archeological site, considered to be the most important Incan site in Ecuador. Here you will explore both cultures, Cañaris and Incas
