Northwest of Dunsborough, Cape Naturaliste Rd leads to the excellent beaches of Meelup, Eagle Bay and Bunker Bay, and on to Cape Naturaliste. There are walks and lookouts along the way; pick up brochures from Dunsborough's visitor centre before heading out. Whales and hammerhead sharks like to hang out on the edge of Bunker Bay, where the continental shelf drops 75m. There's excellent snorkelling on the edge of the shelf at Shelley Cove.
Bunker Bay is home to Bunkers Beach Cafe, serving an adventurous menu with Asian and Mediterranean flavours just metres from the sand.
The Cape Naturaliste lighthouse, built in 1903, can be visited on tours and there's also a free museum and a cafe. Above and Below (adult/child $30/15) packages are available, combining entry to Ngilgi Cave.
