Welcome to Mole Creek
If the name 'Mole' has you thinking of underground things, you're not far wrong about this diminutive rural town. Mole Creek sits at the edge of a karst landscape riddled with caves, and makes a fine base for forays into nearby national parks such as Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair and Walls of Jerusalem. There's a good chance of seeing platypuses (rather than moles) in the town's waterways – keep an eye out just after sunrise and just before sunset – and the town pub has a bit of a thing about Tassie tigers.
