A rampaging rhinoceros has killed one person and injured seven in the city of Hetauda in Nepal’s Terai region. The disoriented rhino strayed into the town by mistake and ran amok, charging pedestrians and even injuring people inside the Hetauda hospital and the town post office. Eventually, forestry office staff were able to drive the enraged animal back into the forest. Across Nepal, endangered wildlife and human beings live in close proximity, and conservationists often face a difficult task protecting wildlife after attacks on human beings.
