The county of Kerry in the South of Ireland certainly packs a lot of weight when it comes to attracting big names for filming.

Scenes for Star Wars: Episode VIII are being shot on Ceann Sibéal on the Dingle Peninsula currently. But this weekend the county hosted the new presenters of Top Gear, whom it has to be said, were pretty blown away by the scenery. New hosts Chris Evans and Matt LeBlanc spent the weekend enjoying local hospitality - where they poured a few pints of Guinness,  met up with a hen party and enjoyed a local Gaelic football match.

The crew filmed a race between Friends star Le Blanc in a modern Rolls Royce Dawn and the classic Rolls Royce Corniche, driven by Evans who said: "We had to come film in Ireland. We had the Rolls Royce Dawn and one of the most beautiful backdrops in the world, so that's why we came."

But it was the breath taking scenery that left a lasting impression on the presenters, who took to Twitter to rave about the experience.

Earler Le Blanc had retweeted The Wild Atlantic way who had sent him a video of the route he filmed on, this time with almost 40 Porsche drivers taking on the scenic and twisting route.

The new series is scheduled to start on the BBC next month, with Netflix confirming it will broadcast the series internationally. Formula One star Eddie Jordan is also lined up as a new host on the show. A native of Ireland, he didn't accompany the duo on their weekend trip.
