Home to a mix of introduced and native species, as well as over 150 species of birds, this 76-sq-km reserve near Santa Rosa is a peaceful place to spend time away from the city. It's quiet during the week, but gets busy on weekends when local families bring all the fixings for an afternoon asado (barbecue) and spend the day here. Avoid Sundays if you're hoping to beat the crowds, and be sure to bring water and sun protection in the baking summer.
The park’s sights are all located around a 6km ring road; nature walks veer off it, so pull over whenever the mood strikes. Among them are a 2km Laguna trail, which appears within the first kilometer after entry, and is the only trail which offers lagoon views. Further on you'll find a 2.5km forest trail.
