Velyki Sorochyntsi Regional Museum

Eastern Ukraine

Once a charmingly frozen-in-time Soviet-era village museum, it has undergone an ill-thought renovation, with hundreds of endearing objects disappearing into the archives. For now, the rather bland exhibition can be checked in three minutes, but keepers pray for additional funding that will allow them to restore its former glory.

Note that pictures by a local naive artist are sold at the entrance.
