Full-Day Private Boat Trip to Kekova from Kas

Meet at Kas Harbour at 09:45AM, board your private boat and begin the cruise around 10:00 AM from the harbour. First stop at Inonu Bay for swimming and snorkelling before heading to Simema or Kalekoy, a beautiful traditional Turkish fishing village with no car access. Explore this little village where you can see Lycian sarcophagi that submerged in water and scattered over the hill, as well as Loggerhead, turtles swimming in the bay. Visit Semina Castle on the top of the village where you can see the magnificent panoramic view of Kekova area.  Lunch will be served at fisherman's restaurant here. After lunch we board the gulet and cruise along the Sunken City of Kekova, the protected Lycian-Roman archaeological site and witness its stunning beauty of its ancient sunken city submerged under water. We continue Tersane Bay to explore the ruins and swim in the sheltered cove. Next destination is Aquarium Bay where where you have plenty of time to swim in crystal clear waters or just relax and sunbath on our sunny deck. Then it is the time to sail back in the direction to Kas Harbour. It will be one more stop at Yaglica Bay for more swimming and snorkelling before heading back to the harbour.

Shared Kekova and Sunken City Tour From Kas Harbor with Lunch

Our shared tour starts from Kas Harbor at 10:00 am and finish at around 18:00. As the boat sails, enjoy the sun.  Now it’s time for swimming in the charming cool Mediterranean and refreshment. After 1hour trip, we take a swimming break in our first bay İnönü   We sail to Akvaryum Bay, opening of Kekova – resembling an aquarium for its depth and clarity.  We will stop at Tersane Bay for the lunch and you will have time for swimming in this bay. We will cruise along the Sunken City of Kekova, the protected Lycian-Roman archaeological site and witness its stunning beauty of its ancient sunken city submerged under water. After an exciting cruise near the Sunken City We will move to Simena (Kaleköy) Explore this little lovely village where you can see Lycian sarcophagus that submerged in water and scattered over the hill. Visit Simena Castle from Byzantine/Ottoman period on the top of the village where you can see the magnificent panoramic view of Kekova area. Then We sail to Yaglica Bay to swim and come back to Kas around 18:00There will be max 30 people on board.

Meet at Kaş Harbour for departure to our first stop at “Yaglica” Bay. Enjoy a coffee or tea while relaxing on deck with one of our large comfortable sun mats as we sail. Guests who enjoy fishing may try their luck using our equipment to catch local fishes such as leer fish, bonito, and wrasse. After an hour’s journey, we reach our first swimming stop in beautiful, refreshing “Yalija” Bay.Depart at 11.30am for Aquarium Cove, located between two islands where exceptionally clear visibility and interesting sea life and features create an aquarium-like experience. During each of these Leisure stops, make use of our on-board equipment to enrich your sea experience: fins, masks, goggles, snorkels and a sub aquatic camera to immortalize your underwater explorations. While you enjoy the sea and its secret underwater world, we will be preparing your on-board lunch of tasty Turkish mezes and grilled kebabs using organic, seasonal ingredients.After a delicious lunch enjoyed right on serene waters, we set sail in the direction of Kekova (Simena) with our first glimpse of this history-rich region at “Shipyard Cove.” Your journey into ancient history begins here where two thousand years ago an earthquake ripped this part of Lycia apart and plunged it underwater leaving the ancient homes, roads and public structures we see at the bottom of the sea today. At every turn, these islands reveal a bit of history and as we explore this area, you will enjoy an unforgettable intimacy with such a mighty civilization of past.We leave the unique beauties of Kekova Islands and point our rudder towards Kaleköy (Castleville) where there is a castle from byzantine and Roman periods and the Royal Cemetery of the Lycian Epoch, sprinkled generously with sarcophagi. After exploring Kaleköy, we set out for Üçağız Village (Village of Three Mouths), home to further historical beauties embedded in a rustic seaside village; after a visit here, we set off to Inonu bay, our Leisure stop along our return route. In Inonu Bay, we again give ourselves over to the cool waters of the Mediterranean. After this cool-down, we finally complete our journey with our return to Kaş harbour. Kekova Sound Boat Trip from Kas

Kekova is a heaven where nature unites with history and its turquoise waters are adorned by countless coves and bays. A village on the coastline, Kalekoy (Simena) village with its famous fortress, and Kekova Island that stretches out to  the historical Sunken City across from Kalekoy. Established upon the ancient remains of Simena within Kekova region, Kalekoy can be accessed only by boat although located on a peninsula. Hosting a Crusader fortress, Kalekoy’s cozy narrow streets invite you to discover this beautiful place.. Our guests on the  Kekova Sound boat trip can visit this adorable town and shouldn’t miss trying its famous peach ice cream!Lying across from the Simena peninsula, Kekova Island was sunk under water due to several earthquakes during Lycian era (2nd cent. AD),and later resettled and flourished under Byzantine reign. However, Arabian invasions forced Byzantines to desert the island.Firstly, please  note that the itineraries of our private Kekova Sound  Boat Trip from Kas are planned according to weather conditions, density of bays, and demands of our guests. In 1990, Kekova Island was declared a protected area by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, and swimming at of the sunken city territory was forbidden. However, the Byzantine church ruins are visible in Tersane Bay and can be accessed only by boat, near Kekova Island and you can both swim and visit the ruins on the shore. Again, Akvaryum Bay (named after its crystal clear waters) in Kekova is perfect for swimming and again can be accessed only by boat.
