The most refined address in Ludwigsburg is the Alte Sonne, where the menu plays up regional, seasonal ingredients in attractively presented dishes that are a nod to the chef's native Alsace, be it leek and Riesling soup, cod in a speck crust with orange, celery, walnuts and smoked trout ravioli, or blueberry sorbet laced with Alsatian Muscat wine.
There's a separate menu for vegetarians. The €18 two-course lunch is good value.
