Shambles Brewery

Top choice in Hobart

An excellent brewery just south of the NoHo strip, with minimalist interiors and a concrete-block bar. Head out the back to drink among the vats (and have a hit of table tennis). Tasting paddles are $14, or refill your 'growler' (1.9L bottle) to take home and savour. Terrific beery bar food too: burgers, wallaby drumsticks, fried chicken and the like.

Try the Dirty Copper amber ale.
