Observatorio Astronómico de la Tatacoa

This observatory makes the most of the desert's clear skies and is open to the public in the evenings from 7-9pm for stargazing with the resident astronomer, who sometimes offers part of the talk in English. Interruptions from motorcycles pulling up can be irritating.

The visitors center can also arrange guides to explore the area.
