Mountain Lakes and Waterfalls Day Trip from Banff
This is a great excursion for anyone who loves incredible scenery. Journey along the Bow Valley Parkway as you head for Emerald Lake. At Emerald Lake, enjoy a quick yet delightful lunch before making your way to Victoria Glacier, Moraine Lake, and the Valley of the Ten Peaks. As you cross the Great Divide into Yoho National Park via the scenic Kicking Horse Pass, stop at the Spiral Tunnels. Then it's on to the magnificent Yoho Valley and Takakkaw Falls before returning to Banff in the late afternoon. This tour is seasonal and only operates from June through to October.

Kicking Horse River Whitewater Rafting
Start your trip by enjoying a scenic drive from Canmore, Banff or Lake Louise through Yoho National Park. Upon arrival at the put in site, you'll meet your river guides and be provided with all the necessary rafting gear. Once on the water, this unforgettable journey begins calmly and quietly, allowing rafters to familiarize themselves with the raft, their paddles and their guides' commands. As the Canyon narrows, the rapids of the mighty Kicking Horse begin a whitewater experience that will take each team of rafters paddling through up to class 4+ rapids, finishing 12 miles (20km) downstream!
Full-Day Whitewater Rafting on Kicking Horse River
Enjoy a day of thrills and heart-pumping action on a Kicking Horse River whitewater rafting tour. The Kicking Horse River runs through the Yoho National Park in the picturesque Canadian Rockies, and in addition to its natural rafting conditions, it also contains man-made "spiral tunnels" to enhance your whitewater rafting experience. While on the river, keep your eye out for wildlife including mountain goats, elk, wolverines, bald eagles and more! All three tour options are well-suited for all experience and fitness levels; you must be a minimum height of 4'11" (149.8 cm) and weight of 90 lbs (41 kg). Kicking Horse Classic: Your day begins on the calmer sections of the Kicking Horse River in Yoho National Park. Spend the morning rolling along glacial waters and learning to work as a team. Following your riverside BBQ lunch (see lunch menu in the Itinerary section below), your afternoon is spent tackling the Class 3 and Class 4 rapids of the Middle Canyon. Kicking Horse Challenge:The Kicking Horse River Challenge offers up the most rapids and the most complete river experience. You will begin on the upper reaches of the river in Yoho National Park, sharpening your paddling skills and learning to work as a team. Following your riverside BBQ lunch (see lunch menu in the Itinerary section below), 13.7 miles (22 km) of whitewater lay ahead in the Middle and Lower canyons. Take on the Challenge! Afternoon Whitewater Rafting:If you want to experience whitewater rafting but lack the time for a full-day adventure, the afternoon whitewater rafting tour is the answer, providing just the right amount of fun! Enjoy 7 miles (12 km) of rafting on the Middle Canyon of the Kicking Horse River with Class 3 and Class 4 rapids. This trip is ideal if you are driving in from Banff, Lake Louise, Revelstoke or Radium and don't want to rise early.
Wapta Falls Wild and Scenic Stand Up Paddleboard Tour
After meeting at the Alpine Rafting Office at 10am, your guide will give you a safety briefing prior to getting on the water. Your 5-hour tour begins on the meandering beaverfoot river. It's poignant green colour and the mountains of Yoho and Kootenay National Parks are a stunning backdrop for this once in a lifetime adventure. Catch a glimpse of wildlife as you glide along silently. Remnants of early homesteading and logging can be seen along the river banks. Navigating a river on a stand up paddleboard can be challenging, but your guide is there to help you with tips and tricks. If you get overwhelmed, you can always sit on your knees on the board to lower your centre of gravity. You'll paddle the Beaver River to it's terminus above Wapta Falls. From here, take the most breathtaking photos as you stand upstream of Wapta Falls.To the east, gaze in awe at Mount Chancellor, a stunning peak in Yoho National Park that is over 10,000 feet. And to the west, hear the deep thunder of mighty Wapta Falls. Then travel a historic portage trail from the Upper Falls to the Lower Falls. Stop at three viewpoints for incredible photo opportunities and to soak in the falls in all its glory. You'll paddle along the path less travelled and experience Yoho National Park and Wapta Falls in a way that only a handful of people get to do every summer. Arrive downstream of the base of the Falls and paddle along the Kicking Horse River. The pace picks up as you navigate Class 1 and Class 2 rapids on your stand up paddleboards under the supervision of your guide. 4 kilometres later, you'll reach the take out point and enjoy a well deserved lunch. At the end of your tour, enjoy free digital photos of your day paddleboardng. Everyone is equipped with a stand up paddleboard, paddle, and all necessary gear. Group sizes are between 2-9 people and there is a guide for every 5 guests.
