Meet your guide in central Brașov and travel by air-conditioned vehicle to the Piatra Craiului National Park in Romania’s Carpathian Mountains. Known for its forests, meadows and steep Zarnesti Gorge, the park boasts one of Romania’s highest mountain ridges, and wildlife such as deer, chamois, wolves, lynx and bear. On your roughly 1-hour journey, discuss the day’s hike with your guide and your group. You can choose from two 6- to 9-mile (10- to 15-km) routes depending on the weather and your group’s experience. Whatever the route, your hiking tour ends with a drop-off in central Brașov. If time allows and your group agrees, stop to visit Bran Castle (own expense) — the inspiration behind the Dracula legend — on the way back to Brașov. Mountain Villages Route – Easy to ModerateWalk through Piatra’s wooded lower slopes, absorbing the breathtaking views on route. See the Zarnesti Gorge, meadows and shepherd’s huts, and as you trek, spot wildlife and learn how the locals eke out a living farming sheep and making cheese. Stop at two villages, Magura and Pestera, and watch the villagers go about their daily tasks. Snack on any lunch you’ve brought with you or have lunch (own expense) at a guesthouse, choosing from simple fare like bean soup or polenta. After around five to six hours of hiking, drive back to Brașov. Mountain Hut Route – Moderate Trek into the mountains through forests, valleys and meadows. Cross the Zarnesti Gorge and visit a sheep farm (June and September only) to learn about local shepherding and try some sheep’s cheese. Stop for lunch (own expense) at a mountain hut, savoring dishes such as buiz — polenta with cheese. Or, refuel with any snacks you’ve brought with you. Leave the hut, and if you wish, take a harder route up to 6,500 feet (2,000 meters) and hike part of Piatra’s main mountain ridge — taking your original 5- to 6- hour walk to an extended 9-hour trek. After your hiking, arrive at your vehicle and return to Brașov.

Peles and Piatra Craiului National Park Tour from Bucharest

Peles Castle is one of the most famous attractions in Romania. It served as the royal residence of King Carol I, and it is one of the most beautiful castles in the world. Built between 1873 and 1914, the castle is a testimony of Neo-Renaissance architecture. Romania benefits from a spectacular countryside so on this tour we will visit two of the most scenic Transylvanian villages in Bran area, Pestera and Magura. Day Hike in Carpathian Mountains for all levels in five areas

This guided day hike brings you closer or into the heart of most beautiful mountains of the area On each mountain there are a few available hiking routes for all levels from easy, medium to difficult hikes. Consider a min. of 4-5h for a day hike extendable to 8-10h choosing private departure on a longer route. Prior to departure, the guide will talk with you about every option and will make appropiate decision for the route to followPiatra Craiului National Park - the host of our guaranteed departure day hike. Route starts near Zarnesti and take hikers into the heart of the mountain, giving time for a refreshing tea (soup) at the mountain hut at 1400m. alt. The return path can have an extension hike to reach one peak with great panoramic views. As Piatra Craiului is the mountain with the most challenging marked trails of Romania, there are several alternative unforgetable routes for day hikes available for the private tour, taking you to the highest peak or along the main ridgeBucegi Natural Park - the moutains look almost unaccessable from all sides. There is a ~1000m almost vertical drop all around the mountain. Once you find your way up, through breathtaking valleys or by use of cablecar from Busteni/Sinaia, and you are now above 2000m, the flat Plateau is the heart of Bucegi Mnt. It offer us easy walking from Cota 2000 to Babele or The Biddies, rock formations carved by the nature. Nearby we take pictures with the well known "Sphynx" and we find out that the inner energy of the mountain is searched by lots of hikers. Optional route can take us to Omu Peak 2505m and Hut located at the highest alitutde in the countryFagaras Mountain - even if we need a bit longer transfer, for a day hike we usually recommand to access the mountain via the Transfagarasan Highway, taking us to Balea Lake at 2035m high. From the glaciar lake there are a few good options for day hikes around the lake with stunning views, or even a bit along the main ridge with optional detour to a peak over 2500m. On clear day we can spot the Moldoveanu Peak, as roof of Romania at 2544mPiatra Mare Mnt - at not more than 1h walk we reach the famous "7 ladders" canyon where water "washed" the way through the rocks forming a very narrow canyon. The water still falls besides your shoulder at the third ladder. You can continue the hike to the top of the mountain for panormic views towards the bigger mountains nearby or just take the easy return trail back to the start. Ciucas Mnt - Starting the hike from a high point, the nearby road passes at 1135m alt. we continue to hike towards the peak along the ridge line. A June hike reveals us slopes full of Rhododendron red flowers giving it the name The Red Mountain. Full-Day Rock Climbing Tour in Zarnesti Gorges from Bucharest
