Varangue sur Morne

Chamarel

This former hunting lodge is an institution, and it's not hard to see why. Its stunning location offers great views over the forested hillsides towards the ocean, and the superb menu is pricey but excellent: braised wild boar, prawns flambéed in Île de France rum, palm-heart salad with smoked marlin and a laundry list of clever cocktails.

Reservations are advised.
