Tim Ho Wan

Top choice in Kowloon

Renowned as the first budget dim sum eatery to receive a Michelin star way back in 2010, Tim Ho Wan has spread from its Mong Kok roots (opened by a former Four Seasons dim sum chef) into a miniempire, with five restaurants in Hong Kong (this is the second branch, the original closed) and global franchises everywhere from Sydney to Singapore.

Tim Ho Wan isn't the best dim sum in Hong Kong, but it can still be very good (it retained its star), and the value-for-money is astonishing. Best of all, since the hype has died down it's fairly easy to rock up and get a table most hours of the day.
