Shore Excursion: Small-Group Amalfi Coast Experience

Begin the tour at 9:00am after getting picked up from the pier at the port of Naples. The driver will be easily recognizable, as they will be holding a sign with your name printed on the front. Meet your guide then discuss locations you are interested in visiting. Locations such as Amalfi, Positano, Ravello, Salerno, Sorrento, Maiori, Minori, Vietri, and Vico Equense are available to visit during the day. Each town can be toured depending on the amount of time you would like to spend in each. After approximately one hour driving along the coast, arrive in the pearl of the Sorrentine Peninsula and gateway to the Amalfi Coast, Sorrento. The driver will drop you off at the entrance of the pedestrian area, then meet you again after 1.5 hours of free time so you can shop and stroll at your leisure.Next, make your way to the Amalfi Coast to eat at your place of choice. Private Tour: Amalfi Coast Tour from Sorrento

One of our English speaking driver will pick you up from your accommodation in Sorrento for this maginificent day tour along the Amalfi Coast! We'll drive by Sorrento and Amalfi Coast where we can have a couple stops to get beautiful pictures. Then we will find ourselves driving down-hill directly through Positanowhere we will descend down the winding one-way road, passing by many picturesque houses and shops, and ultimately arrive in the heart of the town, at Piazza "dei Mulini”. This is the last point accessible by car, so we will park our car and walk downtown where all the streets lead to the waterfront.Here we can have about one hour or more to discover this beautiful village denominated “The Jewel of The Amalfi Coast”.Positano has beautiful things to see: the cathedral, ceramic shops, lemons, hand-made shoes and, of course, “Positano fashion”.After your time in Positano, we will continue our drive along the Amalfi coast with the next stop being the town for which the area is name, Amalfi. In front of the port of Amalfi, there is the one and only bus station along the coast and the shopping area lies just behind this. If you would like to steep yourself in Amalfi's history there are some interesting sights to explore. Two of the most spectacular are the cathedral situated along the coast and the paper mill museum. Behind this square lies the main shopping street of Amalfi, that terminates at the furthest and highest point of the town. Along the pedestrian street are various bars and cafés, not to mention the many shops selling limoncello, casual clothing, swimwear, gifts, basic groceries, and of course, ceramics.We will then take a meandering, relaxing drive uphill along a very narrow road passing several wineries and olive factories which will lead us to Ravello. This rural village is completely unspoilt by tourism, perched on top of the mountain cliff situated above Amalfi and Minori. Ravello is famous for its breath-taking views, natural beauty and ancient monuments which are seen at their very best in the stunning gardens of Villa Cimbrone and Villa Rufolo. In high season, these gardens are rich in the heady perfume of blooming flowers, flora and the sharp, sweet scent of lemons. Ravello is also denominated THE CITY OF THE MUSIC, as it was here that Richard Wagner composed his opera Parsifal. There are many classical concerts held in the gardens of Villa Rufolo.After this, our last site of the day, we will drive back to your accommodation where you can reminisce about your incredible day along one of the most famous coastlines in the world! Amalfi and Ravello Full-Day Tour from Sorrento

Depart from Sorrento and drive along the Amalfi coastal road. The scenery is superb, looking out over the Mediterranean and along the coastline as the road twists and turns its way towards the town of Positano (approx. 20 minutes from Sorrento). The town is built on different levels from the main road all the way down to sea level, giving the image of a waterfall of buildings cascading down to the sea. As the coach can’t stop in Positano, you will enjoy the views and take photos from the bus.Next, head to Amalfi, where you can can explore independently for approximately 2 hours. A guided boat trip along the coast may be possible depending on availability and weather conditions. Customers can also visit the magnificent 9th century Cathedral which proudly dominates the main square of Amalfi, wander through the narrow streets of the town and browse the many shops or simply enjoy a coffee in one of the cafes around Amalfi.The excursion lunch stop takes place after Amalfi in the small village of Scala from which there are excellent views over Ravello.Then, make your way to Ravello which is situated on the hillside above Amalfi. This is where Wagner was inspired to write part of one of his operas and it is from here that you can enjoy the best views of the Amalfi coastline looking over to Minori, Maiori and beyond. This quaint little town has a main square where the centerpiece is the bright picturesque 11th century cathedral. Another option is to visit the Villa Rufolo with its gardens and wonderful views.For the journey back to Sorrento we head over the hills joining the motorway to Castellammare and then back along the coastal road to Sorrento. There are driving restrictions to return back along the Amalfi coastal road.
