If you're really into Buddhist rock carvings, try to get out to the rarely visited sculptures at Stone Gate Hill (石门山, Shímén Shān), 19km southeast of Dazu, or those at Stone Seal Hill (石篆山, Shízhuàn Shān), 20km southwest of town. You’ll have to take a taxi (about ¥90 to Shizhuan Shan).
