As the Destination Editor for the Western USA and Canada, I’ve lived in a lot of different places in the USA and abroad - but currently call Kansas City, home. I’m an avid hiker but not a camper, more outside-y than outdoorsy. A perfect trip might be soaking in the sun, spending a leisurely afternoon in a Biergarten or several days walking through countries on the Camino de Santiago as I did in 2022. I’m always searching for what I call “magic 3-star hotels,” those unique and enchanting “mom and pop” owned accommodations that offer an unforgettable stay at an affordable price point.
