Janet Gyenes is an award-winning writer and photographer whose wanderlust has taken her to 35 countries. Some of her favourite experiences include horseback riding with gauchos in Argentina, camping on the Great Wall and hiking the hills on the Amalfi Coast. Being outdoors is her thing.
Originally from Vancouver, Canada, Janet lived in Shanghai for three years before moving to her current home base, Central Arizona. Although she misses living in a mega city or by the ocean, her work with Lonely Planet has given her a new appreciation for the diversity of the desert (except for tarantulas and rattle snakes).
