Welcome to Ross
Immaculate Ross was established in 1812 to protect Hobart–Launceston travellers from bushrangers. The town became an important coach staging post at the centre of Tasmania’s burgeoning wool industry and, before the famous Ross Bridge was built in 1836, a fording point across the Macquarie River.
