Welcome to Dorrigo

The town’s main attraction is Dangar Falls, 1.2km north of town, which cascades over a series of rocky shelves before plummeting into a basin. You can swim if you have a yen for glacial bathing. A partly sealed road continues north past here and swings east into Coffs Harbour via beautiful winding rainforest roads and a huge tallow-wood tree, 56m high and more than 3m in diameter. Sitting yourself at the base of this big old beauty is to fully appreciate nature. This is off-road action without getting too far off the track.

In the other direction, the Waterfall Way climbs up the escarpment to Dorrigo from Bellingen. The drive passes several plunging torrents and provides a teaser for the lush vistas of Dorrigo National Park.
