“You know that feeling when you see untouched beauty? Crazy mountains with open valleys? It triggers you somehow,” says Dutch photographer Albert Dros. That’s exactly what Kyrgyzstan did to him, as he was travelling from the capital Bishkek (the only place you can fly into the country) to the mountains that cover most of the country’s territory. “Being on an altitude around 3000 metres is fairly common there with peaks over 7000 metres and occasional hikes to 4000 metres,” he explains.

In his landscapes, which are his specialty, he captured the “endless valleys with huge mountains around you, crystal clear turquoise lakes, wild eagles, canyons, you name it”. According to Dros, Kyrgyzstan has it all. See for yourself in the gallery down below.
