The hilltop Spaceguard Centre is the UK's National Near Earth Objects Information Centre, keeping an eye out for any potential Judgment Day scenarios. As well as telescopes watching for asteroids and comets, there's a camera obscura and planetarium shows. Take the A4113 east from Knighton, follow the sign up Llanshay Lane and the centre is 1.5 miles further on.
