Floodwater Murals

Kentucky

After the Ohio River burst its banks and submerged Paducah in 1937, the town built a flood wall along the waterway. Murals now adorn a three-block stretch of the barrier downtown. The 50 jumbo paintings by artist Robert Dafford depict scenes from Paducah’s history; plaques explain each panel. It makes for a great stroll.
