La Pirogue

Flic en Flac

Mauritius' oldest resort shares the same management as Sugar Beach next door, but there's a completely different feel here. Rather than a colonial-manse theme, La Pirogue opts for a charming fishing-village vibe, with semicircular clusters of hut-villas arranged along the 500m of spectacular sandy beach.

To some it may feel like the resort is starting to show its age, but to most visitors La Pirogue represents a classic paradigm of Mauritius' beachside hospitality.
