Bar Cycling Tour: The Ladder of Old Town of Bar

After your guide meets you at Marina in Port of Bar you will be transferred to the old road which once connected Old town of Ulcinj with Old town of Bar. After short instruction, paddle with your guide through Mediterranean villages towards Old town of Bar (Stari Bar). Before this was the only road that locals used when selling their local products such as olives, olive oil, citrus fruits, goat cheese on green market in Stari Bar. Beside local villages your view will be occupied with stunning panoramas at riviera from Utjeha to Bar. Stop at Stara maslina - one of the world’s oldest olive trees located near Stari Bar. It is said to be over 2,000 years old. When you finish a ride you will have time to visit remains of the old town of Stari Bar (‘Old Bar’). Over the centuries it was taken over by the Venetians, the Austro-Hungarians and the Ottoman Empire. The residential architecture of the town is characterized by Late Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque and oriental elements. In 1979 Old Bar was destroyed by earthquake and its reconstruction was not completed. Day1 Tivat Get settled in your cabin before welcome drink. D Day2 Tivat-Kotor We sail into magnificent Boka Bay and we stop for lunch and swimming in Ljuta Bay. We arrive early in port of Kotor , an UNESCO World Heritage site. B,L Day3 Kotor-Budva After breakfast we have a city guided tour of the Old Town of Kotor. Refresh yourself swimming in Dobra Luka Bay and enjoy lunch onboard.  Before arrive in Budva we will stop in the popular sandy beach Jaz. You will have rest part of the day to explore Budva, one of the oldest settlements on the Adriatic coast, over 2,500 years old.  Here are the most beautiful Christian settlements and definitely the most amazing churches in this part of Europe. Dinner out and overnight  at anchor in Budva. B,L Day 4 Budva-Bar After breakfast we set sail for Bar and stop for lunch in front of Sveti Stefan, a fortified island village. In the past  was a favorite hangout of 60’s film stars and royalty like Sophia Loren, Doris Day and Princess Margaret. Before arrive in Bar we stop for afternoon swimming in Maljevik Bay, a small quiet bay. B,L Day 5  Bar - Lustica Bay Today, before to leave Bar, we go for a guided tour of Stari Bar, an old fortified town in the hinterland of today’s city of Bar. In the centuries had been its center, until the city moved down, into the field towards the sea. Today the Old fortress is abandoned and is in ruins. Near there is a market a many souvenir shops. We turn our compass back north with a stop for lunch and swimming in front of Petrovac, in Lucice Bay, one of the most beautiful sandy beaches. Before arrive in Lustica Bay, a marina village, we make one more stop for swimming in Traste Bay. Enjoy dinner on your own. Overnight at dock. Day 6 Lustica Bay-Herceg Novi After breakfast we go inland for a guided visit of Lovcen National Park. We sail out and enjoy lunch onboard in Mirista Bay. Here you can swim and explore the famous Blue Cave, before arriving in the next port, Herceg Novi. B,L Day 7 For our last day we sail into Boka Bay and stop in Risan Bay for lunch onboard. Risan is famous for the remnants of the classical culture. Upon arrival to Perast, stop to visit Gospa od Skrpjela (Lady of Skrpljel) and St Gorge, both unique tourist attractions. You can’t miss to visit St. Nikola church in Perast and admire a stunning view from the top. Observe the small but beautiful exposition of the Perast museum, in Bujovic Palace. Tonight, enjoy captain’s dinner onboard. B,L,DDay 8  PERAST - TIVAT Early morning sail to Tivat for disembarkation and breakfast on board. L

DAY 1 Arrive in Dubrovnik Spend the day in exploring this UNESCO Heritage site. DAY 2 Transfer to Zabljak, the highest town in the Balkans and located in the centre of breathtaking and beautiful Durmitor National Park. Visit the old Durmitor villages and enjoy the views of the extraordinar geological heritage such as Durmitor Saddle and 12th century medieval tombstones. Visit a local family and enjoy delicious homemade food. Daily class and evening editing session.  DAY 4 Transfer to the Moraca Canyon one of most beautiful river canyons in Montenegro and this unique place, will leave you breathless. This is followed by a trip to the Lake Skadar area. We will taste smoked fish and a glass of homemade grappa with the local fishermen.  Next we visit a honey and wine producer who will lead you through the vineyards of a very Montenegrin grape. Daily class and evening editing session.  DAY5 Transfer to Kotor Bay now recognized as one of Montenegro’s principal attractions and cultural treasures. First stop is in the charming old sea faring town of Perast. With its baroque architecture, and looking like a part of Venice that has floated down the Adriatic. We then embark on a short boat trip to church island Our Lady of the Rocks and then Old town Kotor. After lunch, we hike up to the beautiful but abandoned village of Gornji Stoliv.  Daily class and evening editing session. Day 6 We visit the ruins of Stari Bar and discover the rich history of this part of Montenegro (Venetians, the Austro-Hungarians and the Ottoman Empire). The breathtaking remains of Stari Bar are on top of Lundža Hill and surrounded by steep cliffs. The ruins are inaccessible except for a steep entry from one side. Next we visit the fascinating medieval fortress town of Ulcinj, the southernmost town of the former Yugoslavia. This is an architectural ambience where you can visit palaces, citadels, mosques and orthodox churches. You will visit also Ada Bojana lagoon.  Daily class and evening editing session.  DAY 7 Transfer to Dubrovnik This a free day to explore the amazing Dubrovnik City which is on the Adriatic Sea and is world famous for its distinctive Old Town, encircled with massive stone walls built in the 16th century. It is a photographers dream whilst also offering and abundance of shops, restaurants, cafes and bars,  DAY 8 Transfer to airport or next destination
