Welcome to Plage de Malendure & Pigeon Island
This long stretch of overlapping beachside towns and villages is an ideal destination for divers: they come to dive and snorkel at the superb Réserve Cousteau around little Pigeon Island, and to relax on Plage de Malendure’s dark-sand beaches. The entire area is backed by steep hills and driving along this stretch of coast is pure pleasure. Plage de Malendure is not the best beach in the area, but it is one of the best in Guadeloupe for activities, and the competition keeps the prices reasonable. The main town here is Bouillante, named after the river of the same name, which flows into the sea here. The town itself has little to offer, but has a pleasant fishing port and seafront.
