Namadgi National Park

National Park in Australian Capital Territory

Namadgi is the Ngunnawal word for the mountains southwest of Canberra, and this national park includes eight of those peaks higher than 1700m. It offers good bushwalking, mountain biking, fishing and horse riding, along with the opportunity to view Aboriginal rock art. Make camping bookings online ($8 per person) or at the visitor centre, 2km south of Tharwa. While you're there, say gidday to Spencer, the resident carpet python.
