Museo Estatal de Culturas Populares

Monterrey

Housed in a historic mansion, this Barrio Antiguo art center is dedicated to the arts that originate in the state of Nuevo Leon. The center regularly hosts exhibits but, more popular, are the live performances – music, dance, even lucha libre (wrestling). Be sure to peek into the chapel, with its impressive floor to ceiling murals.

There's also a good bookstore on-site with a pod-like reading room for perusing possible purchases.
