Makhan Fish

Amritsar

This no-frills (but not cheap) restaurant does the definitive version of Amritsar's legendary fried fish and oven-baked fish tikkas, as well as a number of local preps featuring chicken, mutton and fish. The signature fish dishes (₹350 to ₹400) are served by weight – 250g is approximately one serving. There's a nice, shaded 1st-floor terrace, and they can find you a beer too.

It's a 2.5km-trek from Ram Bagh. Walk north up MMM Rd, straight over one crossroads, then a roundabout, and it's on your left.
