Drift Cafe & Bistro

British Columbia

Residing in a cute little cottage no larger than a two-car garage, Drift (formerly Nova Kitchen) continues to impress, serving everything from egg-and-bacon breakfasts to sweet seared scallops with bacon risotto. On warm days, the deck overlooking the water practically doubles the restaurant's size and is a great spot to enjoy a Persephone beer with your gourmet grub.

The three-course dinner special ($42) is good value, especially if you sign off with a buttermilk beignet for desert.
