Restaurant Tagoror

Top choice in Gran Canaria

There's not much to choose between the numerous cave restaurants in Barranco de Guayadeque, but Tagoror is a welcoming, long-standing and labyrinthine choice with consistently good reviews and good-natured staff. Hearty stews are the order of the day and there's no shortage of gofio, Canarian potaje (stew) and papas arrugadas with spicy mojo. The menú del día (€11) is excellent and superb value.

It's a very filling meal and for your €11 you get a soup, a large main such as a hefty pork cutlet and chips, plus a pudding and a drink. Service is very efficient.
