Centro de Interpretación del Geoparque

El Hierro

Set amid glorious volcanic landscapes, 6km north of La Restinga, this insightful multilingual centre details the original creation of the Canary Islands and studies what exactly causes a volcanic eruption through computerised screens, special effects and a suitably evocative soundtrack. Then you wander through lava fields to a second building, where the 2011 volcanic eruption that took place just off El Hierro is brought to life by giant screens.
