Noordermarkt

Jordaan & the West

A market square since the early 1600s, the plaza in front of the Noorderkerk hosts a couple of lively markets each week. Monday morning's flea market has some amazing bargains, while Saturday morning sees local shoppers flock to the lush boerenmarkt (farmers market), overflowing with organic produce.

There's a great selection of cafes surrounding the square, including Winkel, home of some of the city's best apple pie, on the southwestern corner.
