About 35km south of Tumbes, Zorritos is the biggest fishing village along this section of coast. While the coarse beach here isn’t as nice as beaches further south – it's unfortunately often covered with a fair amount of litter – the area is home to interesting coastal birdlife. Look for frigate birds, pelicans, egrets and other migratory birds.
Zorritos isn't much of a town but rather a collection of buildings spread out along a long stretch of highway, which means there is not much of a village atmosphere and the lack of footpaths make it a tough place to get around. Despite this it's undoubtedly a nicer place to spend a night that Tumbes.
