Welcome to Parque Nacional Natural Isla Gorgona
After being closed for more than two years following an unprecedented attack on the island by FARC (Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia or Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia), Parque Nacional Natural (PNN) Isla Gorgona has recently reopened to visitors under new administration. In darker times, Gorgona – 38km off the coast and 11km long by 2.3km wide – was one of the few safe places tourists could visit on the Pacific coast. Now that conditions have improved in other parts of the region, you'll find there are better beaches and wilder jungle elsewhere.
