Great Ocean Road and 12 Apostles Day Trip from Melbourne

After pickup from your Melbourne or St Kilda hotel, leave the city heading over the Westgate Bridge bright and early to maximise your time on the Great Ocean Road.After just over an hour’s drive, the first stop will be on a popular surf beach near the town of Anglesea for morning tea (included). It is then a short drive before stopping at Memorial Arch. The arch commemorates the returned soldiers who worked on the construction of the 151 mile (243km) stretch of road following World War I. Continue along the Great Ocean Road taking in the spectacular ocean, beach and cliff views. Stop in the small town of Kennett River home to wild koalas. Your guide will help you spot them amongst the eucalyptus trees. Stop for lunch at a local restaurant in the seaside town of Apollo Bay.After lunch the road and the ocean part ways for the next few hours as you head into the Otway Rainforest. A short 30-minute guided walk will take you right into the heart of the rainforest. You’ll be dwarfed by some of the largest tree species in the world. Wind further through the forest and return to ocean and make a stop at the mighty Shipwreck Coast. Great Ocean Road Sunset Tour from Melbourne

Departing Melbourne at around 10am (April to October) or 11am (November- March), we enjoy panoramic views of the city and Port Phillip Bay as you cross the Westgate Bridge, Australia’s longest at just under 2.6 kilometres in length.Pass by and learn a little about Victoria’s second largest city, Geelong, as you make your way towards the Surf Coast, with its enchanting beach side towns and powerful swells.Take a brief stop at the town of Anglesea, for a chance to walk alongside the beautiful Anglesea River, before continuing the scenic journey along the Great Ocean Road.The scenic journey along the Great Ocean Road is a highlight in itself, as you absorb some truly amazing coastal scenery, with new views being revealed around every bend. 2-Day Camping and Surfing Great Ocean Road Trip from Melbourne

Day 1: (L,D) Start the day with pickup from one of the central locations pointed out to you (Federation Square, St Kilda, North Melbourne, or your CBD hotel). The small group will take turns constructing a playlist of music for the drive as you play games and enjoy plenty of banter along the way. Cruising through surf iconic towns such as Torquay, Bells Beach and Anglesea you will then have a 2 hour surf lesson with a surf school. It doesn't matter if you have never tried it before! You'll have lunch by the beach consisting of a choice of sandwiches, baguettes and wraps. Continue along the road stopping for any photo opportunities you like. Your guides will take you to the historic Great Ocean Road sign and a few beautiful beaches before arriving at Kennet River to see wild Koalas and birds which will fly into your hands! Your guides know of a beautiful spot to relax and enjoy a beer where you'll setup to see the sun start to set. One last stop at Apollo Bay for any last minute items before heading to your home for the night.... A 22ft Native American Teepee only 328-feet (100-metres) away from the beach. The Teepee site has bathrooms and toilets. Enjoy a traditional Aussie BBQ, games, live music and general banter by the campfire in the middle of the Teepee as you sit back and relax or visit one of the local bars close by. Day 2: (B) The next morning enjoy breakfast and coffee before departing at 9am. Your tour guides will take you to another one of their secret spots, a field of hundreds of Kangaroos. Great Ocean Road Day Tour

Your tour starts with prearranged pickups in Melbourne. You will travel over the Westgate Bridge and along the Princes Highway to Geelong, where we stop for a Coffee and a toilet break. You begin your Adventure on the Surf coast section of the Great Ocean Road via Torquay . Kangaroos are found near Bells Beach and surfers are often seen at our many stops on the Coast. You will hear stories including, the history of The Great Ocean Road, how the coast line was formed and the story of the Loch Ard shipwreck, to name a few. Memorial Arch is next for a photo stop of the Great Ocean Road Sign. Your journey continues over Big Hill and a beach view stop awaits in Lorne. Stunning coastal views are the order as you travel through Separation Creek and Wye River. Koalas at Wongarra are often a highlight and another photo stop. Hold your breath as you visit Cape Patton Lookout and get that camera out again. You will see beautiful Apollo Bay.
