Pasteleria Chichita

Dominican Republic

Pasteleria Chichita, one block east of Parque Colón, has been churning out San Cristobal's culinary claim to fame, pastel en hoja – literally ‘pastry in paper’ – for more than 50 years. The chicken and yucca version, served in a paper bag of course, is especially nice, but go for whatever is hot out of the oven.
