Amid the grapevines and orchards, 15km north of Renmark on a Murray River kink, the Woolshed is doing marvellous things. Part of the historic Wilkadene Homestead, the 100-year-old shed is now a craft-beer brewery, its broad riverside deck built from floorboards from Adelaide's demolished Centennial Hall (The Beatles stood here!). Dive into a tasting paddle and enjoy. Live weekend music.

Wilkadene also offers cottage accommodation ($170 for up to six people) and houseboat hire (from $1500 for three days).
