St-Barthélemy

Hypnotic views of the forested hillside and deep blue ocean unfold from the dining room and terrace of this restaurant perched high on craggy Morne Lurin (192m), just before the mountain tumbles into beautiful Anse de Gouverneur. French classics include seared frogs' legs with parsley and butter sauce, Burgundy snails in garlic butter, duck confit à l'orange and roast pigeon.

A full menu is served at lunch alongside a casual lunch menu spanning lobster club sandwiches to mahi-mahi burgers. The wine list is excellent, but take it easy on the precipitous, narrow roads afterwards.
